Sir James Martin Chambers
Sir James Martin Chambers was established in 1990 and now accommodates more than 30 barristers. The prestigious Chambers, situated at Level 31, Colonial Centre, 52 Martin Place is conveniently located with easy access to the Supreme Court of NSW, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia when it sits in Sydney.
The Chambers were named after Sir James Martin, Premier of NSW for three separate terms between 1863 and 1872, and the fourth Chief Justice of NSW during the period 1873 to 1886. Sir James Martin was a prominent Lawyer and Politician, who remains the only person to have held the offices of Premier and Chief Justice of New South Wales.
Since its establishment, Sir James Martin Chambers has grown in seniority and stature and now comprises one of Australia's leading Chambers. Members offer expertise in all areas of the practice of law, with its Members including seven Queens Counsel or Senior Counsel.
